"One of a Kind" Teddy Bears...

Hattie Stoddard moved to Santa Maria from Lake Arrowhead with her husband John when he retired in 2000. The following year she took a Botanical Illustration class at Alan Hancock College that began her love of painting flowers in watercolors.

As a lifelong artist, Hattie has worked in graphic designs and as a technical illustrator with pen and ink, and specialized in caricatures with graphite.

The last ten years Hattie has made "artistic" teddy bears that have previously been sold exclusively in gift shops. She also designed 8 prototypes with patterns sold to Annette Funicello Teddy Bears and L.L. Knickerbocker Co. Her handmade collectible teddy bears are now currently at The Mole Hole Gift Shop in Solvang. They are "one of a kind" and are fully articulated, sewn with various types of mohair fur.

With John she enjoys gardening and loves their colorful flowers for continuous subjects to paint. Like their garden, she continues to grow in her artwork.
