Moving
to the Central Coast in October 2004 propelled me in photography.
I did some experimenting in Bakersfield, where I am originally
from, and realized that photography was something I could
put my passion and love for the beauty of nature into. I
tend to look for the over exaggeration in nature, the spectacular
side of what nature produces.
When
I go out shooting I shoot what moves me. I get a strong
sense of need, 'I need to get this on film'. I shoot with
only one film camera, no digital. Accompanying my film camera
are various lenses with hoods and filters. The filters are
all I use in order to enhance color and/or sharpness. I
do not alter my photos in any way with programs.
I
am completely self taught. Everything I've learned was by
reading, studying other photographers work, and by making
my own mistakes. Even with no formal photographic training,
I welcome anything that might teach me to be a better photographer.
